宮崎県立西高等学校理数科卒業

2009年　第15回宮日音楽コンクールにてグランプリ受賞

2010年　第64回全日本学生音楽コンクール声楽部門高校の部第1位及び横浜市民賞受賞。瀧廉太郎コンクールにて第2位及び瀧廉太郎賞を受賞しウィーンへ短期留学。

2011年　選抜高等学校野球大会（春の甲子園）にて国歌独唱を務める。

2012年　鹿児島国際大学国際文化学部音楽学科に初のHONORS特待生として入学。讀賣新人演奏会・宮崎新人演奏会・鹿児島新人演奏会に出演し、鹿児島新人賞を受賞。在学中、声楽をウーヴェ・ハイルマン氏に師事。

2016年　ザルツブルク・モーツァルテウム大学大学院オペラ科に入学。声楽をバーバラ・ボニー氏に、オペラをカロリーネ・グルーバー氏、カイ・レーリッヒ氏の各氏に師事。同大学院修了時「リリー・レーマン賞」を受賞

2018年　第13回モーツァルト国際コンクール（ザルツブルク）ファイナリスト。AIMSコンクール（グラーツ）にて第2位を獲得。

2019年　アンネリーゼ・ローテンベルガーコンクール（コンスタンツ）にて特別賞受賞。ザクセン州立歌劇場 （ドレスデン・ゼンパーオーパー）のユンゲス・アンサンブルにソロ歌手として所属し9月に同劇場でデビュー。エトヴェシュ作曲《金の龍》のメインロール《フィガロの結婚》 のバルバリーナ《ドン・カルロ》ではテバルドを演じ、アンナ・ネトレプコと共演。

2020年　ザクセン州立歌劇場にてモーツァルト《魔笛》のパミーナ役でデビュー

2022年　同劇場の優秀な若手に贈られる「クルト・タウハー賞」を受賞。同年、サンマリノで開催された第8回レナータ・テバルディ国際コンクールにて第1位。

2023年　ミラノ・スカラ座にバルバリーナ役でゲスト出演しデビュー

2024年　ドイツ歌劇場にて《トゥーランドット》のリュー及び《デア・ヴァルト》のルスヒェン役でデビュー

2025年　大阪万国博覧会（サンマリノ館）に出演。第94回日本音楽コンクール第4位。

Mariya Taniguchi was born in Miyazaki City, Japan.

She graduated from Miyazaki Nishi High School with a STEM major in the Science and Mathematics Department.

 

In 2009, she won the Grand Prize at the 15th Miyanichi Music Competition. The following year, she received First Prize and the Yokohama Citizens’ Award in the vocal division of the 64th All-Japan Student Music Competition. She also earned Second Prize and the Taki Rentaro Award at the Taki Rentaro Competition, after which she undertook a short-term study program in Vienna.

In 2011, she performed the Japanese national anthem at the Spring Koshien High School Baseball Championship.

 

In 2012, she entered the Department of Music in the Faculty of International Studies at the International University of Kagoshima, becoming the first recipient of the university’s HONORS scholarship. Upon graduation, she appeared in the Yomiuri, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima Newcomer Concerts, and was awarded the Kagoshima Newcomer Prize. She studied voice under Uwe Heilmann.

 

In 2016, she was accepted into the graduate program of the Opera Department at Mozarteum University Salzburg, where she studied voice with Barbara Bonney and opera with Karoline Gruber and Kai Röhrig. Upon graduation, she was awarded the prestigious Lilli Lehmann Prize, given to exceptionally gifted students.

She was a finalist in the 13th International Mozart Competition (Salzburg) in 2018 and received Second Prize at the AIMS Competition in Graz.

 

In 2019, she received a Special Prize at the Anneliese Rothenberger Competition in Konstanz. That August, she joined the Junges Ensemble of the Saxon State Opera (Semperoper Dresden) as a soloist, making her house debut the following month. Her notable roles at the Semperoper include the lead in Der goldene Drache by Péter Eötvös, Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro, and Tebaldo in Don Carlo. She also shared the stage with Anna Netrebko in a supporting role.

 

In 2020, she debuted as Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Semperoper Dresden.

 

In 2022, she was awarded the Kurt Taucher Prize, presented to outstanding young artists of the Semperoper. That same year, she won First Prize at the 8th Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition in San Marino.

 

In 2023, she made her debut at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, performing the role of Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro as a guest artist.

 

In 2024, she appeared at a major German opera house in the roles of Liù in Turandot and Röschen in Der Wald.

 

Appeared as a guest artist in the San Marino event at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

In 2025, 94th The Music Competition of Japan Fourth place.​
